Divinity Original Sin 2 Black Screen After Character Creation

I get a black screen after character creation I can press different buttons and even hear the sound of my character drinking a potion, I can hear rain and what sounds like a monster walking around. It just appears to not load the game screen as the loading screen just sticks and any minimizing or Alt-Tabbing cause the game screen to be completely black with only the sound coming through just fine. I play World of Warcraft and Starcraft 2 quite often and never have any problems. So I don't see any reason this game shouldn't work on my computer

I've tried restarting my comp, and running the PackCheck Content.ggpk through the command prompt as directed in the support thread and it gives me a Fatal error: Error opening file: Content.ggpk

Radeon X1950
4 Gb of ram DDR2

Have you tried a fresh install of the game? As well as removing the Application Data content files.

Some people had corrupt game files after updating straight from an old closed beta build to open beta.

I'll give that a try, but I had just downloaded the game late last night.

Okay after using the installer again and choosing repair, the game still has the same problem. I've tried using the packcheck content.ggpk again and it didn't return any errors or anything.
As of so far nothing has changed, still does the same thing: I can hear everything just fine, just the loading screen sticks and nothing happens.

If your drivers are all up to date, it could be that your ISP has given you a cached bad copy of the content.ggpk file. Your most reliable bet would be to download the game on another connection, and copy the files over. Please let me know if this doesn't work!

Is there any other way to go about this besides a different internet connection?, I don't have access to any other internet connection till at least Sunday and there's no guarantee that I would be able to do so.

You can try one of the torrents provided somewhere on the forums. These were made due to slow download speed of the OB patch. They contain a full game which should have no problems working.

But also be sure that your drivers are up do date. You could even try re-installing them.

There was a problem with radeon 1950 cards in the closed beta. People with some radeon cards couldn't play cos of some error from water rendering or something like that. Not sure if it fixed.

I should mention, there was a new update to the Radeon drivers @catalyst control center. Check it out.
